Here are some suggestions for the perfect drinks to take the chill out of these cold days.
Warm up with mulled wine
There’s nothing like a hot mulled wine to brighten a dull winter evening. This simple recipe from Delicious uses citrus juice, peel, sugar, star anise, cinnamon, bay leaves, vanilla, cloves, and nutmeg.
Heat these ingredients in a large saucepan of 500ml of water. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes to develop flavours. Add wine and continue to simmer over a medium to low heat for 5 minutes.
By serving in these clear cups with handles, you can enjoy the rich red colour of the drink.
Make your own hot chocolate
Why not follow this simple recipe for homemade hot chocolate?
All you need is milk, cocoa, light brown sugar, dark or plain chocolate, and some whipped cream. Heat the milk, cocoa, sugar, and chocolate in a pan over a medium heat until the chocolate has melted. Whisk to dissolve the cocoa.
Serve in one of our polycarbonate latte mugs and float the cream on top and grate a little chocolate on this. For an indulgent treat, drop a few marshmallows onto the cream.
How about a hot toddy?
It’s easy to make a hot toddy with whisky, honey, lemon, cloves, and a cinnamon stick. Mix the whisky and honey and pour into our premium polycarbonate clear mugs.
Add half of the cinnamon stick to each and fill with 200ml boiling water. Finish with a slice of lemon studded with a clove.
Chill out with a winter cocktail
Cocktails aren’t just for summer. Enjoy this indulgent, creamy mudslide in one of our unbreakable octagonal tumblers. All you need is dark chocolate, coffee-flavoured liqueur, vodka, Irish cream liqueur and double cream.
Place the tumblers in the fridge to chill overnight. Melt the chocolate in a shallow bowl and dip the rim of the chilled glasses in the melted chocolate. Stand the tumblers upright, so the chocolate gradually drips down the sides, and then put them back into the fridge until you're ready to serve.
Mix the coffee-flavoured liqueur, vodka, Irish cream liqueur and double cream in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until the outside of the shaker is cold. Take the tumblers from the fridge and put a few ice cubes in them. Pour the mixture from the cocktail shaker into the tumblers and grate some chocolate over the top.
Heat up in the microwave
The beauty of polycarbonate glasses is that they’re dishwasher and microwave safe. This not only makes them easy to clean – it also means you can use them to heat up your drinks.
